During CACRE 2027, we offer other events which will provide you more networking opportunities and help you to see around in Astana a bit better. Please note that these events are not included in the conference registration fee and, participants need to register and pay for themselves.
I. Overview
Astana is one of the world's youngest capitals, renowned for its bold and futuristic architecture, often dubbed the "Dubai of the Steppe." The city's main attractions are concentrated along a central axis, making it possible to experience the unique charm of this "City of the Future" in a single day. August offers pleasant summer weather in Astana, with long daylight hours ideal for outdoor exploration.

(A) Morning: Futuristic Architecture Tour (9:00 – 12:30)

Overview: Astana's most iconic landmark, standing 105 meters tall. The golden egg at its top is inspired by Kazakh mythology—the mythical bird Samruk lays a golden egg in the crown of the Tree of Life, symbolizing the nation's future and rebirth. Highlights: From the observation deck at 97 meters (corresponding to the 1997 relocation of the capital), enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. Place your hand on the presidential handprint to make a wish—the national anthem will play, adding a ceremonial touch. Duration: Approx. 1 hour 45 minutes (including queuing and viewing) |

(C) Afternoon: Cultural Immersion (14:00 – 17:00)

(D) Evening: Shopping & Dinner (17:00 – 20:00)
17:00 – 19:00 Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center
- Overview: The world's largest tent-shaped structure, housing a shopping mall, supermarket, dining areas, and even an indoor beach. The building itself is a futuristic marvel and a perfect finale to the one-day tour.
- Highlights:
- Climb to the top for a night view of the city
- Shop for local cultural souvenirs
- Enjoy the lighting effects of the giant tent at sunset
19:00 Back to Asyr Hotel
Take the bus back to the Asyr Hotel for a group return.
III. Important Notes
- Please dress modestly when visiting the mosque (long sleeves, long pants, and headscarf for women)
- August in Astana is warm during the day but cool in the evenings—bring a light jacket
- Sun protection is recommended (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
- Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports may enter Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 14 days
